Falling of the face of the earth...

Well, that's how I feel when it comes to my blogspot. Looking at it today I realized it is over 2 years since I have been on here. I really wanted to make this a habit and work on my digital scrapbooking...but life interrupted my plans and now I am in California, early retired from work, taking care of my mom and working for my dad and with my brother. Life is never what you expect is it? But I am where I am supposed to be and life is good. Still some things that need to get ironed out but I am learning to take things one day (or moment) at a time. It is a feeling of peace amid storms when you know the control is not in your hands but in God's and His love and care for me are infinite. How can I doubt His care over every moment of my life?

So, having said all that...I do want to get back into my digital scrapbooking and back to this blog. Let's see how this works this time!!

Another Layout done!

This is another picture of my grandmother - I think she is about 6-7 years old here. I made the page coordinate with the first one so if they are printed out and put in a book, they will look nice side by side.

Getting Ready to Leave for Alaska Cruise

Tomorrow, July 4th, I have to go to work for just a bit then come home, finish packing and fly home. I get to spend all day Sat with my family then Sunday morning, my mom and my sister and I fly to Alaska for a Holland America cruise to Alaska. This will be the third year in a row we have taken this cruise and I am looking forward to a nice relaxing trip. The cruise is with Dr. Chuck Swindoll and should be a great one.

I finally figured out how to make my blog header fit the page so I am happy with it now. I really got involved in making the header the other night. I wanted it to be something that was "me". So the background is a scanned copy of a quilt that my great-grandmother made for me just before I was born. She died shortly afterwards so I never knew her, but the quilt is still special to me. The pictures I put on the page are of my grandmother, my grandfather, my mom (as a little girl) and my great-grandmother (the one who made the quilt).

I am off to bed, have to get to work early to finish closing the month before I leave and I want to be there, done and back home by about 10:30am.

Annabelle Lawrence

This is my grandmother on my mother's side when she was about 1 year old. This is the first digital scrapbook page I did and I can already see things I would do differently now. Anyway, I think it is a sweet picture of her.

Hmmm...what to do with the header?

Well, I played all night to see if I could come up with something I liked as a header and have gotten nowhere so far. I did learn some stuff in PSP that I hadn't tried before so I guess it wasn't a total loss but still no customized, "this is me" type header... just blah. I will probably get into bed and then come up with an idea. Hope I remember whatever it is tomorrow. Anyway, I guess I will post one of my digital pages. I had decided awhile ago to scrapbook all of the old family pictures so that my brothers and sister and their families could have access to them. So that is where I started and these are some of my very first digital scrapbook pages. I will probably look back on this (at least I hope so) and see progress as I learn more about this. I think I have found something that I really like doing (along with 5 million other women) but that's okay. It's an outlet and creative and fun plus it makes me think. If I am going to blog, I guess I have to put some of my thoughts down and I have never been very good at that. This will be a challenge for me - hope I stick with this.

Joining the blogging world

I am going to join the blogging world today and start a blog to put my digital scrapbook pages. I have a couple of friends who do this and they have inspired me - besides, it is a good place to store all the digital scrapbook pages I do.
